CONFERENCES
The Society's first Conference took place in Cracow, Poland on 2-4 March 2000 and was entitled Language of the Third Millennium. Over 500 people took part in it with more than 60 presenters in several sections devoted to language change, languages in contact, language teaching and translation/interpreting, as well as a panel discussion concerned with the translation of the official Polish administration terminology into several European languages. The Conference was a great success and the proceedings were published in Polish by the Tertium publishing house by the end of the same year. Our second conference, Language of the Third Millennium II, took place in Cracow on 28 February-2 March 2002 within the same framework and was equally successful. The proceedings were published in January 2003 and may be purchased from our website (click here). The English Summary (click here) is available on-line. The next conference is planned for 5-7 March 2004. More details on all of our conferences are available on our Polish web page. They are held in Polish as a rule, but foreign speakers are welcome too (interpreting service will be provided). If you are interested in participating, please contact us by e-mail (tertium@poczta.fm).
